This is a great photo of Finnish troops in the field against the Soviets, who had invaded their country in World War II. The story of their resistance has few equals in modern warfare.
Check out Mr. Sami Korhonen's link ("The Battles of the Winter War." 30 November 1939 - 13 March 1940. The epic battle of Finland against the Soviet Invasion) for the truly inspiring story. Definitely one of the underappreciated stories out of that war.
Current Finnish immigration policy: Don't bother.
See any parallels?
Or is it just me who thinks a tenacious preservation of one's territory and national identity is a good thing? Very few people practicing santeria, voodoo, honor killings, or polygamy in Finnland these days.
Right-wing parochialism run wild!
