Cultural competence and "Profland."

This is an extremly insightful -- and decidely unromantic -- look at modern universities. The categories of Profland, Dark Siders, Pols, Eloi, Jockocracy, SubAcademic Wannabes, Grad Student Helots, etc., are deliciously accurate.
