Intolerable situation.

Frank Gafney, Jr., writes of the growing frustration of U.S. officials with the Saudis who willingly hunt terrorists inside the kingdom but still refuse to stop supporting them outside the kingdom.

He calls this intolerable. To which, "Amen."

His main point, however is about the U.S. and its vulnerabilities vis-a-vis the energy policies, or possible future energy policies, of China, Russia, Canada, Iran, Sudan, Nigeria, Venezuela, and Mexico.

Mr. Gafney believes the time to take action on America's dependence on foreign oil is now. He mentions the "Set America Free" blueprint for independence, the components of which are in his book, War Footing: Ten Steps America Must Take to Prevail in the War for the Free World (Naval Institute Press, 2005).

"Ex, On. We can’t fight terrorism without energy security." By Frank J. Gaffney Jr., NationalReviewOnline, 1/20/06.
