Not irrational to contemplate.

Such a delicate circumlocution, such artful phraseology, such a deft formulation of "rational to contemplate":

Four years before [in 2001], the chairman of Iran's Expediency Council, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, said that "the use of even one nuclear bomb inside Israel will destroy everything," and that "it is not irrational to contemplate such an eventuality."
"The mindset of Muslims at the pinnacle of power. We say "Muslims" because this pious creep would not be mouthing sentiments like this without the hearty approval of the Iranian government.

"In Denial." By Walter Reich, Wall Street Journal, 3/2/06 (emphasis added; subscribers only).
