The true Dem standard: perfection.

What, one wonders, would today's liberal hawks have made of him [Truman] and Korea, given their penchant for neat, well-planned wars that end quickly, and their standard of zero mistakes?
Setting aside the possibility of hyperpartisanism, the above is a neat summation of how intellectuals deal with reality. If one can conceive of a military operation that unfolds with the precision of a Swiss clock, the failure to plan and execute it must be due to stupidity or a character defect. Field Marshal Von Moltke's dictum that "No battle plan survives contact with the enemy" bounces off a Dem brain like a murder charge off of O.J.
