Very thoughtful Muslim opinion on the Pope's speech.

We are extremely critical of Islam and frankly think that the political and spiritual leadership in Islamic countries has fallen into the hands of profoundly ignorant and confused men (or is a hostage in some way to such men). Thus, it is an especially great pleasure to read these thoughts of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis who is a Greek citizen of Turkish origin (and whom Debbie at Right Truth describes as a Muslim):

These screaming and inane people should ask themselves to what extent they, and the execrable and totalitarian societies and countries they represent, would be have been accepted by top Muslim philosophers, if they had been back to life.

Ruling these states where Islam became a religion limited to few acts of practice and lack of basic thought, representing these societies where the hatred of the better reigns in all forms of the daily life, and daring to attack a scholar who was elected Pope are all contradictory. Trivial politicians should first correct inaccuracies and inconsistencies in their own countries before attacking others. Whatever Benedictus XVI said, what matters is how many Muslim beggars enter filthy (with dirty gallabiyas [torn] up and with black coloured foot – since they are barefoot) in the mosques to pray and ask money from the people around.

When outside your mosques there are hills of trash tore up by rubbish eaters, you have nothing to defend. When in your schools your schoolboys do not study a single page of original text of Ibn Sina, Mohyieldin Ibn al Arabi, Maqrizi, Tabari, and Ibn Rushd, you have no Islam to defend.

When you do not know the most important Islamic monuments beyond the borders of your country, and when you need Western organizations (like the Rotary's) to restore your country's Islamic monuments, you should rather shut up.

The only thing Bendictus XVI has to say to his bogus-Islamic critics is that "since there is no compulsion in religion" all the Muslim countries should turn secular, and all those who are ready in these countries to reject Islam must be allowed by law to do so without facing consequences".

When you impose Islam, you destroy Islam; no one would respect a destroyed religion fallen to the hands of ignorant and illiterate sheikhs.[1]
Prof. Megalommatis advocates what the Colonel longs for with respect to Iran:

The matter is that today's Muslims de facto do not represent the real, historical Islam anymore, so they have nothing to claim as theirs except their illiteracy, and their tolerance of barbaric sheikhs and cannibalistic ayatollahs.

An imminent nuclear bombardment of Iran will not only free the oppressed peoples of the Iranian cemetery; it will also shake the entire Muslim World, stimulating the civilized elements (that exist in great number but are terribly oppressed at the local level by the barbaric and murderous sheikhs) to reject the idiocy of the Wahhabi Satanic perversion.[2]
And:

Engulfed in a pathetic anti-Americanism, inactive Europe will face inner strife of disproportionate dimensions, unexpected invasions, and implosion. [But the] misery caused through intermingling with uncivilized, barbaric and antihuman elements will generate – soon or late – a healthy and dynamic rejection of methods and approaches so perversely sought by the circles of Benedict (rather Maledict) XVI, and a new Heraclius will rise to lead Europe to the East. Justinian's reconquista of the West cannot be a model for today's Europe.[3]
The only thing we differ with the professor over is the need for nuclear weapons. An all out conventional assault on the leadership and Iran's military and government facilities will get the job done just as well.

Nuclear weapons are not the only way in which one can hint at the fact that one is really, really cross.

He says he is a Muslim, so I can only take him at his word. But wasn't that refreshing to read? We need more of that.

He is an amazing gentleman with a CV that's longer than my rap sheet.

With the incessant drivel that pours out of the ummah these days, it's easy to forget that there are brave people like the professor who are thoughtful and clear headed.
