Islamic parasites and the duty of obedience thereto.

If you follow the logic of liberals, the fact that Christian evangelicals are influential in Republican politics proves that the U.S. is on the brink of or actually is a theocracy. Ergo, since socialists are influential in Democrat circles, the presidency of Bill Clinton was a communist dictatorship.

Ultima Thule writes about what a real theocracy looks like in Iran, thus showing how ridiculous U.S. liberals are when they talk about theocracy in America:
Historical precedent aside, the present Shiite Iran is home to over 300,000 mullahs. The most descriptive term for mullah is "parasite." A mullah begins his career as a parasite, lives as a parasite and dies as a parasite, simply because he contributes absolutely nothing to the necessities of life, yet gobbles disproportionately more of whatever resources he can grab.

As a true parasite, a mullah's very survival depends on others. It is critical for a mullah to procure and maintain a docile obedient host. A flock of gullible, ignorant fanatics makes an excellent host and the mullah's main task is to keep the sheep in their pen, by hook or crook.[1]
In this respect, consider the Muslim concept of "taqlid":
Taqlid or Ittiba` is Wâjib (compulsory) upon Muslims. . . .

* * * *

Taqlid is the easy option for ordinary people[.] In the context of Islamic Fiqh or Law, Taqlîd or Ittibâ simply refers to accepting and following the verdicts of expert scholars of Islamic Fiqh in their exposition and interpretation of Islamic Law, without demanding from them an in-depth explanation of the intricate processes required in arriving at such a verdict, called Ijtihad. It simply means that ordinary folk do not have to do Ijtihâd, i.e. the intricate and complicated procedures involved in deriving Islamic rulings [we got it the first time] that scholars exercise when issuing a Fatwâ (legal verdict). The duty of ordinary people is to trustingly accept the authority of the learned scholars in this matter [barf] and act upon their verdicts.[2]
Thus, the mullahs arrogate to themselves the exclusive right to interpret Islamic law and should the "ordinary" Muslim dare to question a ruling[3] he or she risks being accused of heresy, polytheism, innovation, deviation, disbelief, or bourgeois deviationism. (No, wait. Whoops, sorry. Wrong excrudescence.)

Thus, the imams will tell you what is the "correct" interpretation of the sharia. It's mandatory that you submit to their interpretation. If missing your mandatory prayers or taking off your burqah in public can be dangerous to your health, questioning the right of imams, muftis, and sheiks to dip into the public treasury or wield temporal power can be a downright death-defying experience.

Bottom line: the independent thinker in Islam can kiss his ass goodbye. Mullahs rule!
