U.S. to strike Syrian oil pipelines, punish Iran.

Ok, I couldn't get this published in The Onion so I'm forced to write about that piece of fantasy here on my very own blog.

In 2005, Paul Wihbey discussed economic sanctions, sabotage of oil pipelines, and naval blockades as a way of getting the Syrians to quit killing people and otherwise meddling in Lebanon and helping out Hezb O'Allah.[1] None of that happened, of course. They're only ardent supporters of terror and providing sanctuary for the killers of our troops in Iraq, so why get excited?

In point of fact, the invasion of Iraq in 2003 was magnificently, wonderfully, and audaciously effective and 100% vindicated for the living fear of God . . . well, us, to tell the truth . . . that it put into the Syrians, Iranians, and Libyans. We then commenced to throw away all that that dangerous and expensive enterprise won for us by engaging in an interminable exercise in nation building, for which some Iraqis have been grateful. That some of them may be grateful, however, is a far cry from there being, at this late date, a democratic government that can sustain itself without the help of the American military for the foreseeable future.

So let's just leave it that the nation building was a dumb idea and take up from there. Which is to say, let's deal with the problem of Syria and Iran. Both of these backward, animal regimes are — as we speak — actively assisting in the killing of our young men in Iraq and doing their utmost to frustrate our goals there. On top of that, they both support terrorist organizations in the Middle East and elsewhere. Hezb O'Allah has a drug and military training operation in northeast S. America right now, and doubtless has infiltrated sleeper cells into This Great Nation, thanks to half-assed border control courtesy of every president since the moment that Ike last turned out the lights in the Oval Office.

So . . . let's let Syrian and Iran know that every time there's a bomb attack or some $%#^@ "incident" in Israel, Lebanon, or Iraq, there will be a strike in both these sorry countries on a target of equal or greater value. One IED kills a GI on a road in Iraq? Goodbye to an Iranian patrol boat, tank, fighter, or government building. And, goodbye to some similar Syrian asset.

They are already killing and maiming our guys and the citizens of nations friendly to us. Why won't we do to them what they do to us on a daily, even hourly, basis?

Is this a war against terrorists or a $%#^@ tea party?

Let's kill, maim, destroy, burn, and smash our enemies with a white hot fury.

Is this asking too much?

I'm with Obama on this 100%. We need to come together and reason. Our shrapnel coming together with what they value, and they get to see how reasonable we are. Liberals will swoon over so much togetherness.

Of course, we'd get permission from the U.N. first.
