Historical refresher.

Much ink has been used up on the alleged mendacity of George W. Bush in pushing the danger of Saddam Hussein’s WMD program. Hysteria and nit picking over Mr. Bush’s mention of Niger yellowcake were a deliberate effort to obscure the extent to which EVERYBODY was on board with the idea of the danger posed by Saddam.

When it was Bill Clinton ordering air strikes on Iraq, however, the realities of Saddam’s WMD efforts were Holy Writ itself:
Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons-of-mass-destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region, and he has made a mockery of the weapons-inspection process. The responsibility of the United States in this conflict is to eliminate weapons of mass destruction. ...
