It’s is a fatwa (fatawa) issued by al-Azhr, the Egyptian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. It orders the death of an Egyptian apostate from Islam.
Who it is who was to do Allah and the ummah a big favor by “solving” the problem of this gentleman’s existence isn’t specified. Perhaps it falls under the category of “community service” by any nearby Muslim sufficiently agitated by superstition and fealty to this bloody creed, which I sometimes think is any Muslim male who can carry and fire a B-40 rocket launcher (with rocket), got a grown up black ninja costume (with green headband and graffiti spray paint accessory pack) for his birthday, or had his B.A.R. mitzvah.
If the Council did this to an apostate in the U.S. I wonder if an American prosecutor could indict the Council under the “threat” exception to the protection of the First Amendment and state laws that criminalize the issue of threats. A while back a Spanish judge thought he could order the arrest of Gen. Pinochet because of very bad acts in Chile allegedly affecting Spaniards. Gen. Pinochet, God rest his soul, is beyond any earthly subpoena now but perhaps similar difficult problems of international criminal jurisdiction could be resolved dans le modèle espagnol to put an end to this satanic practice of safely issuing death sentences from afar.
I don’t have the energy just now to chase down some specific authorities. Suffice it to say, I think it’s worth exploring how some putz in Waziristan or Qom who calls for the killing of some infidel or apostate in Copenhagen or Albuquerque can be made to sweat out, say, an extradition request.
Now, I know, were talking pure fantasy since we don’t as yet have the backbone to confront Islam head on. Rather, as Diana West brilliantly put it, we are not in a war against Islam but in a “war against alienating Islam.” But you know the general drill on that.
It’s an important concept though, to reach out an touch someone who’s acting like some pumped up Divine Engine of Allahic Retribution and who thinks he’s untouchable. A little more direct accountability by going into a lot more detail than just “the Council,” “the ummah,” or “bloodthirsty Muslims” will interject the “hurt” factor into future calculations of what “Allah” commands. Some of those types are just begging for an ass whipping, are they not?
Don’t mind me. I’m just dreaming of a kind of “Renaissance II.”
Anyyyyyway, here’s a rough translation of the fatwa:
In the Name of Allah the Most Beneficient the Most Merciful. So much for “merciful.”
Al-Azhr
Council of Fatawa.
This question was presented by Mr. Ahmed Darwish and brought forward by [name obscured] who is of German nationality.
A man whose religion was Islam and his nationality is Egyptian married a German Christian and the couple agreed that the husband would join the Christian faith and doctrine.
1) What is the Islamic ruling in relation to this man? What are the punishments prescribed for this act?
2) Are his children considered Muslim or Christian?
The Answer:
All praise is to Allah, the Lord of the Universe and salutations on the leader of the righteous, our master Muhammed, his family and all of his companions.
Thereafter:
This man has committed apostasy; he must be given a chance to repent and if he does not then he must be killed according to Shariah.
As far as his children are concerned, as long as they are children they are considered Muslim, but after they reach the age of puberty, then if they remain with Islam they are Muslim, but if they leave Islam and they do not repent they must be killed and Allah knows best.
