Until the present brief moment in historical time, mankind grasped one vital concept – that the presence of foreigners in their midst was either due to
- Option A: small-scale immigration or trade that brought with it all the things that the moon calf “diversity” zealots ceaselessly extol such as tou fu, kung fu, cloth manufacturing innovations, mariachi swing band music, insights into theoretical physics, the law merchant, double entry bookkeeping, and frankincense and myrrh. (So far so good.)
- Option B: conquest by massive numbers of troops or inundation by massive numbers of settlers who -- incredibly! -- care nothing for local peoples except as they are sources of plunder, sexual gratification (involuntary), slaves, food, microchips, or taxes.
There is a bastard kind of generosity, which, by being extended to all men, is as fatal to society, on one hand, as the want of true generosity is on the other. A lax manner of administering justice, falsely termed moderation, has a tendency both to dispirit public virtue, and promote the growth of public evils.[1]Boundaries, nations, culture, race, ethnicity, investment, history, sacrifice, private property, law -- just wind and dust.
As my recent post with the video of Mr. Obama’s aunt makes clear, people around the world have come to believe that they have an unqualified right to share in the fruits of the labors of U.S. citizens. I kid you not.
Yet this is also what the U.S. political class and its enablers believe in their hearts. No claim by any foreigner can morally be resisted whether it’s a claim for resources or U.S. citizenship. The value of U.S. citizenship or thrift and hard work is extinguished and diminished, respectively, and what is the problem with that, our rulers ask.
Such is the state of play at the present time.
However, it isn't over until it's over, as Aristotle reminded us, and two writers who explore this are worth your time: Sarah Maid of Albion[2] and Fjordman over at Gates of Vienna.[3]
Sarah’s take on Sweden and Britain is great, btw:
It would be hard to over-estimate the significance of the Sweden Democrats election success. Sweden is one of the most extreme examples of multicultural fanaticism in the world. It is a country which exchanged a once widely admired truly liberal tolerance for an almost maniacally intolerant totalitarianism, where any dissent from the politically correct orthodoxy is suppressed, sometimes violently, and any facts which cast doubt on the fantasy of a multicultural utopia are ruthlessly censored.Sweden shows the extent to which the ruling class has had to rely on coercion to prevent the truth of their betrayal from becoming known. Criminalizing dissent (Wilders), depriving employment (Sarrazin), and tolerance of AntiFa violence (Germany, Sweden) are what you get when the government wanders into the thorn fields of delusion and won’t come back. And, yes, Britain is indeed still pathetic.
Sweden is the European state which effectively banned its own history and has gleefully allowed itself to become the rape capital of Europe (most victims ethnic Swedes, most perpetrators not) and its cities, such as Malmo to become Muslim ghettos.
The Sweden Democrats fought the election whilst being reviled and slandered, they were denied participation in election debates (sound familiar?) their election advertisement was banned and the media portrayed them as racists and fascists. Yet the politically correct and obedient Swedes voted them 20 seats in parliament.
We have not yet seen similar results in Britain, the British people still behave like an alcoholic who has not yet hit lowest point . . . .[4]
But . . . now you can sense the desperation. Expect repression to increase.
