We realize that our national political contests have been as real as wrestling bouts between The Caped Cajun Marauder and Maurice the Avenger, as energizing as debates between Tweedledum and Tweedledee, and as tantalizing as a plateful of Wonderbread mayonnaise sandwiches. They have been about sellout for patronage and political advantage, and wholesale intellectual surrender to doctrines that are wildly incompatible with freedom and decency:
. . . Beck has interjected a much needed realism/objectivism into the national debate and is on course to topple the apple cart of the “progressivism” that has entwined itself within our government for decades. Beck is on target to expose the belly of the beast of what is our federal government and its enablers where too many of our elected “good men” have stood by and allowed the octopus of corporatism/statism to gain control of our pillars of society. ACORN has been getting all kinds of federal funds for almost 40 YEARS! Where were the Republicans? All crouched in a corner afraid of being labeled “racist” by MSM if they should dare confront and expose this corrupt organization. Beck is filling the gap for the missing political leadership that should have been fighting this creeping socialism/fascism every step of the way if they had their eye on our Founding Fathers and the Constitution. They did not and in steps Beck. If you’re looking for a antecedent to the rise of Beck, look no further than Bush’s Comprehensive Immigration Bill–it was here that the American people gathered that our Federal Government was working on behalf of interests other than those of the people.Comment by hoads to “The Conservative Debate Over Glenn Beck.” By Ron Radosh, Pajamas Media, 9/21/09 (emphasis added).
