What no liberal will ever say.

"We're better."

That's what liberals won't say.

It's as simple as that and it makes them contemptible when what we have in the West is something extraordinary. They will not adopt a reasonable attitude with historical and economic perspective. As one immigrant to the U.S. said, "I was not looking for paradise; I was trying to escape hell." But liberals will have none of it and, instead, discover hell where there should be reasonable contentment. As defenders of their own they are useless because they are hollow nothings, worthless when the knives come out and a positive impediment to those who are willing to fight.

Robert Weissberg does a great job in explaining what the liberal threat to the West is:
It is this wooly-headed cultural relativism permeating the west that permits the triumph of zealots against those who barely lift a finger to protect their own culture. The battle is a mismatch if one side refuses to defend forcefully its own heritage. Multiculturalism is political AIDS -- nobody dies of AIDS, they die of something else since AIDS "only" destroys the immunity system.

This understanding means that we must be free to defend our values as superior and this inescapably means offending our enemies. There is no "polite" way to accomplish this defense, so say goodbye to a political correctness (PC) whose first commandment is "Thou Shall Not Offend." To continue the AIDS parallel, PC prevents the AIDS-infected patient from strengthening their immunity system since fighting back might "offend" deadly microbes (who can say what life form is better than any other?"). This "we are better than you" is the first line of defense against a rival convinced of their own cultural superiority.
He skewers British prime minister Cameron's useless statements on multiculturalism too. The very thing Cameron criticizes and seems to be "waking up" to attaches to his thinking like an anvil glued to his leg. Muslim separatism and efforts to encourage integration are beyond useless but that's where he goes, along with Merkel and Sarkozy. The gravitational pull of this insanity is simply immense.

The problem is Muslim hatred for the West and the insanity of tolerating people who hate your own culture within the national boundaries wherein that culture has its roots. As matters stand now, it's not possible to tell these Muslims that we won't tolerate their @#$%. Which means that we simply can't get enough of it.

"Time to Defend the West." By Robert Weissberg, American Thinker, 2/16/11 (emphasis added).
