The language Congress uses to describe their spending is corrupt beyond redemption. . . .I do love this man, this epitome of a gentleman, this decent, good-natured, man. Dr. Williams ever fulfills his Orwellian first duty as an intelligent man to sometimes restate the obvious. Make that "always."
What about the terms discretionary versus non-discretionary congressional spending? Non-discretionary refers to uncontrollable things like sunsets and sunrises, low tides and high tides and laws of thermodynamics. By contrast, all congressional spending is discretionary and controllable.
Orwell also said, "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." Observing the hog swill that washes over the land in connection with matters political and economic, I do not doubt that Dr. Williams is writing in one of those times.
Common sense is fascism, fascism is "right wing," fiscal sanity is racism, the use of military force in Libya is not war, debasement of the currency and inflation are sane goals, Islam is a religion of peace, the border will be controlled, uncontrolled immigration is healthy, citizenship is not being debased, black failure is the result of the legacy of slavery, fossil fuel resources are not being deliberately denied to Americans, the Constitution is a living document, the Commerce Clause applies to all human activity, federal and state courts uphold the rule of law, and the Marxist revolutionary Barack Obama is a natural born citizen.
KMA and call me "Elvis" if one word of that is true. Other than the "Marxist revolutionary" part.
"Do We Deserve Our Fate?" By Walter E. Williams, Townhall.com, 6/1/11.
