That "conversation" on race.

I'm sure the thoughts below aren't quite what Attorney General Holder had in mind when he said that we're a "nation of cowards" because we don't "talk enough with each other about race."

No doubt he'd prefer "the conversation" to be more in the nature of a one-sided confessional where whites would own up to their universal perfidy toward blacks, but this would be my choice for my going-in position in that conversation:
It remains the case that, e.g., Obama thinks blacks are behind because of white racism, and blacks believe that blacks are behind because of white racism; Obama wants to keep expanding government subsidies and perks for blacks, which he sees as a pay-off for white racism, and blacks want to keep expanding government subsidies and perks for blacks, which they see as a pay-off for white racism; Obama is anti-American, and blacks are largely anti-American.
James N.'s comment is choice and explains the pathetic white liberal rush to vote in our first black president:
"Obama" is a white liberal's fantasy of a black man.
Which naturally calls to mind, by way of corroboration, Joe Biden's description of Mr. Obama as
[T]he first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man.
I'm happy to cut Vice President Biden some slack and see this as the kind of "foot in mouthism" that anyone can fall victim to, esp. with off the cuff remarks to a nearby microphone. Then U.S. Senator Allen's "macaca" remark comes to mind. (I still have no idea what that word means.)

I have to give it to Biden, however. Obama is indeed a "mainstream" African American resident African. Barack Hussein Obama's most favoritest "pastor" was Jeremiah "God damn America" Wright and he just can't bring himself to salute properly when the national anthem is played. This is absolutely reflective of the views of many blacks. Who else is electing those pathetic black socialists, communists, progressives, and Muslims to the Congressional Black Caucus if it isn't black majorities?

Feel the love.

I'll be happy to be disabused of my opinions by the African side. If it can eschew the word "racist" in what is offered, it would be a plus. But that is the stuff of fantasy.

James N. gets it just exactly right. White Americans had no idea that this was the reality of their Obama -- and they desperately didn't want to know differently.

"Seeking to distinguish itself from “racists,” the virurently anti-Obama American Thinker claims that blacks have nothing in common with Obama." By Lawrence Auster, View from the Right, 7/21/11.

The (White) son of a friend did some part-time work at University of Johannesburg (formerly Rand Afrikaans University, now almost entirely black). A black woman had brought her baby to work, and being the outgoing kind, this guy was playing with the baby, who was laughing and gurgling. He said something about "just like a little monkey".

A passing (White) member of faculty overheard him and, mistaking him for a student, went off pop. Threatened to have him expelled.

Question: if the baby had been White, how might this scene have played out differently?

You're not allowed to mention monkeys around blacks. I remember two incidents in the last US presidential election. One was a newspaper cartoon about an escaped ape that was shot by police, with a caption about having to find a new candidate. The other was a furore about a bookseller who displayed a book about the Obamas in the same window with a book about apes. I also remember animated gifs of George Bush morphing into a chimpanzee, but oddy, no fuss about that.

Incidentally, it was in response to one of those "ape" articles on Pajamas Media that Rachel Peepers posted her memoire about prom night. More recently, she posted some criticism about another PM columnist, calling her "classless". I replied, reminding her of her own lack of class. Apart from an attack on me in response, I've seen nothing by her on the internet since. Do you suppose she's avoiding me?

Thanks. I never bothered to look it up as it made no sense in context. I mean, NO world could make sense there. No "good" name needed to be found to address the young man and I don't believe he'd been disrespectful or hostile to Allen. Even so, it just made no sense for Allen to say something so patently suicidal.

I do know what Sharpton meant by his famous "white interloper" comment. Allen's not in the Senate any longer but Sharpton will be on CNBC or FOX in the near future.

Hair-trigger resentments on the part of blacks and their white enablers will be a fact of life until whites regain some of their self respect and master the words, "Get over it." I do sense an increasing realism and hence impatience on the part of whites on race matters. Clearly the "civil rights" movement was never going to be enough to prove Jefferson's assessment of future race relations wrong. It's clear we're getting to the point where "black patriotism" will be a contradiction in terms. See my next post reporting on the young blacks and Hispanics who refuse to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Destiny! There are some magnificent exceptions but they are not numerous enough to keep the trash from being elected to political office.

I've had pleasant contacts with Rachel. I couldn't find her comment on prom night that you mention.

Ah, yes, still the magnificent exceptions. Allen West for president. Or Herman Cain. Americas's "Suicide by History". That was the rationale for Obama's election, wasn't it? History!

Ask Rachel about it (for the first time in my life I'm tempted to type a smiley). But do it face to face. She'll deny it, but it's easier to do that by email, and not as much fun. And say hi to her for me.

I despise the black underclass and the slovenly thinking and mendacity of much of what passes for the black leadership. Very large numbers of blacks probably do not understand, appreciate, or accept their own country and, to their discredit, are hopelessly fixated on the white racism explanation for all their woes.

There are blacks who are excellent men and women. Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, Larry Elder, Herman Cain, LTC West, and Elizabeth Wright have excellent minds and are great assets to the country. I have great respect for the courage and integrity of Pastor Manning of the Atlah Ministries. I knew great black NCOs and officers in the Army. I've known decent and intelligent black lawyers the equal of any white ones. If you want to write them all off as of no value, fine. I see it differently.

I don't think there was a rationale for Obama's election. A mass exercise in white delusion and wishful thinking was more likely at work.

Your disagreements with Rachel are your deal and have nothing to do with me.

Colonel, this will be a long post, but it's my swan song here, so please bear with me.

When I first replied to one of your columns at Eternity Road, I said that I considered you an honourable man, and I've had no reason to change that opinion. Likewise Francis Porretto and the majority of his writers are intelligent and probably honourable men. Probably by any metric you'd name, Francis is a better man than I am. But he's mistaken, and so are you, on this issue of the Exceptional Negro.

How could I have the cheek to disagree with so many good, smart men?

The essential difference between your perspective and mine is that I've already lost my country.

I grew up under the Apartheid system in South Africa. It was an unjust system and could only be maintained by tyranny. So we good White people voted to allow the government to negotiate a better system with the black leaders. Before we knew it, they'd given the country away, lock, stock and barrel. Not what we'd signed up for, but it was too late.

Now, like the camel in the tent, they have their nose in every formerly White country, and there are only two ways this can end. We can push back, or be pushed out.

If we push back, we have to push the whole camel out. We can't push only the nasty bits out.

Those exceptional blacks that you know, they're not confused. They know the score. When the chips are down, they know who "their" people are. They are not us. They never can be.

When it comes time to push back, and please God, let it be soon, it's going to be ugly. Our skin will be our uniform, and there will be no neutrals. We have to separate, and it must be complete. Then all your excellent blacks, like Colin Powell, Bill Cosby and all the other manufactured black conservatives will show their true colours. They are not on your side. Never were, never will be. Until you realise that, you will be crippled by divided loyalties, and you can't afford that.

Now, I'd give anything to have the tyranny of Apartheid South Africa back. Justice be damned - we don't owe justice to our enemies, only to our own. Learn which is which. It's not hard, they don't even look like us. Focus.

PS - looking at your posts for today, it really looks as though you get it. And yet you don't. How can you not??
Maybe the "worse is better" crew are right. America needs another term of Obama to wake it up. I don't know if you read SF, but you might appreciate this story. It's relevant.

AnalogMan, I don't know why your comment disappeared. It was not by my hand, I assure you. I received the email version and marked it for eventual reply when I got back from a recent trip. My apologies for the delay.

Thanks for your kind remarks. I appreciate them very much.

I understand that you lost your country and that it was just handed over to millions of blacks who relish the prospect of revenge against whites and routinely wreak their revenge or disconnected blood lust on white farmers and urbanites. A former school chum of mine in Johannesburg had his visiting parents killed at the front door one Christmas morning in the Cape Province by some black teenagers, who mercifully spared my friend and the rest of the family, with the exception of a bullet to his foot.

I don't doubt that the US did all in its power to ensure that the transfer of power was unconditional.

The demographics are such that we will face what you faced. I think I do get it in that I have no confidence whatever that multiracial societies or Western and third-world cultures can coexist. Even the non-Western Chinese and mostly-non-Western Indians experience periodic violent reactions from retrograde societies.

Eventually, all whites everywhere will find themselves facing their ANC moment. They can choose then whether they have any racial and ethnic pride or whether its preferable to melt away in the genetic or sanguinary flood.

I see examples of blacks who are outstanding in every way and I can't deny the quality that I see. The most eloquent elucidation of US political class cowardice v-a-v Islam was from a black man. It was on the profane side, shall we say, but that man has more eloquence and sense in his little finger that gigatons of highly-educated, metrosexual twerps passing for males whom I've met in my life. I hear others occasionally calling in to the talk shows and you know about Williams, Sowell, Elder, Thomas and their like.

Cosby did good in his way but has backslid in ways that you predict. Powell never was a conservative and is the poster child for the "line up with their own" idea that you argue for. (No sarcasm.)

Bottom line, there will be time when we must separate. At a minimum, I think we'll have to embrace something like the patchwork of identities as evolved in Europe after the Reformation or in the Hapsburg Empire. Integration is a waste of time. Thank you, Louis Farrakhan.

If I am willing to recognize quality and fidelity when I think I must I still don't see how that makes our views that much different. If there is some kind of a violent shakeout -- and that seems like it's definitely in the cards -- I don't think safeguarding the good guys or having them in the ranks is fatal to the appropriate, common sense outcome.

I was surprised when I arrived in Vietnam to find that all manner of indigs and foreigners were running around inside our camps. Some were with the enemy but webs of genuine respect and affection did form. The overall betrayal was a high-level political one (like your own) but the failure to maintain strict racial and ethnic divisions wasn't one of the failures.

Another school chum from SW took a rocket in the back of his head up on the Angola Border while with the 32nd Battalion. It was a mixed unit.

When things get very ugly, it will be clear enough who the barbarians are and if I say I admire some with the same skin color it won't change the result one bit.

I do like SF and will read your linked book when I have more time.

Do please return from time to time.
