The two wars in Syria.

The three most serious crises in the world are (1) the deliberate transformation of the United States by means of the open southern border so beloved of Republicans and Democrats, (2) the ongoing invasion of Europe by young Muslim males of military age, and (3) the two dirty, phony wars in Syria in which the U.S. has pretended to fight but actually covertly supported ISIS and al Qaida savages while being Turkey's, Saudi Arabia's, and Qatar's bitch.

We'll leave aside the question whether any authorization for operations of the U.S. military in Iraq is still valid after all these years. Be that as it may, Reps. Gabbard and Scott deserve our thanks for putting their finger on the precise problem respecting Obama's covert war on the sovereign nation of Syria – its unconstitutionality:

“Reps. Tulsi Gabbard, a Democrat, and Austin Scott, a Republican, introduced legislation on Friday to end what they called an “illegal war” to overthrow Assad, the leader of Syria accused of killing tens of thousands of Syrian citizens in a more than four-year-old civil war entangled in a battle against IS extremists, also known as ISIS.

“The U.S. is waging two wars in Syria,” Gabbard said. “The first is the war against ISIS and other Islamic extremists, which Congress authorized after the terrorist attack on 9/11. The second war is the illegal war to overthrow the Syrian government of Assad.”^[1]

Not Assad.

I don't for a second believe that any civilian casualties incurred in Assad's fight for survival are other than what is to be expected when a vicious enemy took the field against him, especially when that enemy (1) is horribly cruel, (2) has chosen to fight in populated areas, and (3) is assured of unlimited supplies and studied U.S. indifference to thousands of oil trucks traveling the roads from ISIS-controlled areas to Turkey thereby earning millions of dollars for that terror organization (and Turkey).

The case against Assad amounts to nothing more than cheap unproved assertions that Assad is "a butcher," that he used gas on his own people (ridiculous), and simply that he "must go." The overall level of deception, hypocrisy, and moral taint involved in what we have done and what we still do in Syria is a stain on the honor of America.

If there are reasons for fighting Assad with borrowed Chinese and Japanese money while our own borders are wide open, they need to be publicly presented to Congress so that it and the American people can decide whether this ghastly conflict is something that is worth the life of even one more American.
