Corel Visual Studio X8 failure to launch.

If you have a copy of this video editing software and it suddenly won't launch, it's apparently because of one or more Windows updates.

There a hotfix for X8 at this link that worked like charm for me.

Patches for other versions are at the same link. Discussions as to those are here and here, but follow the recommendations at your own risk.
