Blind to the end.

U/I German writer:
We are ruled by ideologists, not only in Germany but across the West, and they will not stop chasing paradise on earth as they create hell. [1]
Genrikh Yagoda.
Executed 1937.
The left never notices the killing and torture that follow in the wake of total state power. Nor do the “winners” in any leftist race to the bottom remember that when caprice replaces law the winners eat their own.

The attack now is on free speech. After that's gone, there is just dumb acquiescence. And rule by scum.

"One death is a crime. A million is merely a statistic" - or something close to that, going from memory. Thanks "Uncle Joe".

As I keep saying, the Left are MISSIONARIES. They intend to create heaven on earth, where there is no more poverty, or want, or hatred, or any of the other ills that have plagued mankind since Eden. And if you want omelets, you need to break eggs.

The fact that omelets have never actually been made no matter how many times the recipe has been tried does not trigger their cognitive functions to say "Waaaaait a minute".

Solzhenitsyn spoke of the armor around men's minds. It only took one book, his TGA, to change my mind forever. I was never able to look at the Soviet Union or communism the same again. Not that this was a 180-deg. shift for me. Just that the stark facts he related were literally compelling.

Too, for an ardent cold warrior I've had not difficulty in adjusting my attitudes toward Russia.

How hard is that? I don't get the compulsion to be welded to a particular theory. Perhaps if a certain train of thought provides the perfect explanation why one is not a loser then you'll construct that armor around that train of thought.

The constant leftist refrain of "acceptance" seems to come from that region of lack of self regard. As Mary Baker Eddy said a long time ago, " . . . and feed the famished affections." That's what religion should help to do but with the indiscriminate rejection of religion, it's not surprising that affirmation is sought in patently absurd political doctrines.
