I dislike the term “postmodern” as my life has been nothing but an experience of ever greater comfort, medical marvels, convenience, mobility, freedom from czars, priests, and imams, and evermore astounding technical wizardry.
Anything that is “post” about this particular time in this very modern world, however, is rooted in rejection of the essentials of decency as our ancestors discovered and advanced them. Postmodernism is to me shorthand for the embrace of irrationalism, primitivism, squalor, and utter dishonesty in matters of public discourse.
Dr. Sanity’s post below is an interesting analysis of the left’s love affair with tyranny and the graphic (excellent) showing the ways in which Marxism has tried to adapt to its failure. The reason the left is so virulent these days is that it increasingly finds itself cornered in a conceptual box that is founded on ever more empty intellectual ideas seized upon in desperation as their ancestors were soundly discredited by events. Dr. Sanity calls this “neo-Marxist fascism.”
Look for more strident cries of “racism,” “fascism,” “greed,” and “corporatism” to advance the something-for-nothing, beggar-thy-neighbor agenda for a third-world America.
