Delusional politicians I (Tom Harkin, Al Gore, John Kerry, LBJ).

Ann Coulter, Extreme All-time, Hands Down, No. 1 Goddess and Ultrababe, reported one of those delicious tidbits about our "leaders" that bears remembering. (Not that it will influence the voters of Iowa at any election, or anything bizarre like that. )

In 1984, Senator [I kid you not] Harkin, Dem-Ia., told The Washington Post:

"I spent five years as a Navy pilot, starting in November of 1962. One year was in Vietnam. I was flying F-4s and F-8s on combat air patrols and photo-reconnaissance support missions."
It subsequently transpired that [The Honorable] Mr. Harkin had never been in combat in Vietnam.

Read it in Ann Coulter, "Ballad Of The French Berets," August 18, 2004.

Her accounts of John Kerry's out-of-body experiences in Cambodia, Sen. Harkins's out-of-plane experiences in Vietnam, Al Gore's out-of-DSM-IV forays through the elephant grass under merciless liberal commie fire, and LBJ's out-of-shame, 13-minute flight through hell in WWII will bring tears to your eyes.

Tears of laughter, that is.

Or . . . tears of despair that such morons actually acquired any political power over the lives of even one American.

But, hey, next time there's a chance to increase the power of Washington over anything, let's vote for that. That's a great idea.

Well, isn't it?
