For some reason, he has not ackowledged his debt to The Colonel for ideas on how to analyze the Chinese military buildup, but he has made some good points of his own.
- China is rapidly increasing its amphibious capability each year and that suggests they are very serious about resolving the Republic of China issue, by military means if necessary.
- China's military modernization is extensive and impressive.
- China's policies are fueled in part by strong nationalism.
- China's military expansion has been enabled by its fantastic economic performance [with thanks to Wal Mart and other far-seeing business geniuses].
- China has a major headache protecting oil supplies from the Middle East and is vulnerable to U.S. strikes on its own oil infrastructure.
- The Chinese military buildup has been accelerating since 1999.
- The Chinese have been trying hard to hide this buildup.
- The post-Cold War peace is over and the U.S. is in "an arms race with a new superpower whose goal is to contain and overtake the United States."[1]
