European political leadership.

I can't exactly point a finger at the Europeans on matters Islamic but it's startling to see in black and white a possible result of Europe's continuing on autopilot:
Population statistics support the Muslim claim that within a decade they will be the majority in all major cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam. In face of these developments, what follows?

The massive concentration of Muslims in major European cities, writes Fjordman, will have dramatic consequences, some of which are already visible. If this concentration continues in Europe this is what the future holds:

The state may not be able to guarantee the security of its urban citizens. If ordinary citizens feel the state is no longer able to guarantee their safety, perhaps native Europeans will create clans of their own to counter the Muslim clans.

The result will be a retribalization of Europe and, likely, the end of the nation-state.[1]
This absurd result presupposes that the people of Europe are as spineless as their leaders and will meekly adopt "inshala" as their new watchword.

Personally, I think the European future is more likely encapsulated in this comment on Jihad Watch:
But the result of the failure of the socialist system will not be Islam. The result with be a strong executive that puts troublesome people on airplanes.[2]
This is a result likely to occur in tandem with other measures. As someone remarked elsewhere, the French Foreign Legion still exists and would gladly make itself available for "maintaining order." Wouldn't that be more likely to happen prior to retribalization?

I think so.

A long time ago, I read a book about the Winter War in Finland written by a Russian soldier. He described how the Finns encircled the Russians and generally maintained the upper hand because of their mobility. The Russian thought that the end of the war came when the Russians just came to see it as ridiculous that such a small country was causing such damage. The situation just became unacceptable to them and with determined action they forced the Finns sue for peace.

Perhaps some such tipping point will be reached in Europe when the ass kissing on the part of the European leaders will just finally be seen for what it is.

Unseemly.

In the meantime, we see the unseemly result of European cowardice and the utter lack of statesmanlike vision.

We have the same in the U.S.; the problem is just not as far advanced as over there. We've got nothing to teach the Europeans, unless it's something about the sanctity of free speech, though Lord knows we're slipping there too with our &$@% hate speech laws.
