A perilous blindness.

Quite a few years ago I was on a panel with a prominent American rabbi. I don’t recall what the panel was about. All I recall is a brief exchange I had with the rabbi. He said that he was telling his children that the Holocaust could happen in America. He turned to me and asked whether I thought that he was paranoid. I replied that, on the contrary, he was not paranoid enough. He could only imagine being killed because he is a Jew. Depending on circumstances, he might be killed because he is an American, or a bourgeois, or white.^[1]

The above appears in an article that highlights some hysteria on the part of a Jewish group, "Shuva (Return) – The Israel Emergency Aliyah Movement" about "countless" Jew-hating neo-Nazi and white supremist groups spreading "venomous messages on the internet and at public demonstrations."

You'd have to be very dim not to know that neo-Nazis and white supremists dislike Jews so point taken on that, with reservations here on whether this venom is as prevalent as Shuva screams . . . or . . . whether venom comes only from neo-Nazis and white supremists. Manifestly, it does not, as some of the utterances of New Black Panther Party figures attest. The latter point is the point of Mr. Berger's answer to the rabbi recounted above.

An FBI infiltrator learned that the Weather Underground very seriously contemplated that 25,000,000 Americans with wrong attitudes would have to be killed to solidify a leftist takeover of the U.S. Glenn Beck today showed video of demonstrators at Code Pink (or other leftist?) demonstrations who (a) thrilled at the idea of Revolution in the U.S., (b) wanted Justice Clarence Thomas to be thrown out and him and his wife hanged, and (c) wanted some other conservative person (Thomas?) to have his fingers and toes cut off.

I've highlighted many times how the left works hard to conceal the crimes of communists in the last century and how they work so hard to conceal that National Socialism was a leftist phenomenon. In the preceding paragraph you can see what the left actually advocates and that what they want to do in the future is to perpetrate exactly the kind of killing that leftists reveled in in the last century.

"To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary" said leftist icon Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Such a kidder.

Mr. Berger sees a certain Jewish blindness here but it's a blindness that's found throughout Western society. No good comes from handing state power to any human beings but Western idiots – more often than not highly intelligent and highly educated idiots – uncritically do just that so that they can enjoy the blissful state under "socialism" where everything is fair, social justice prevails, and those who have any ability provide like hell for people who have more needs than burrs on a dog.

The real downside of this is not, of course, some miffed conservative's nightmare of seat belt regulations, abortion, and condom instruction in middle school. Would that it were so mild and benevolent as that.

No. The real downside of leftism is the end of the rule of law, the end of freedom of speech, the rise of secret police, and the wholesale slaughter of class enemies. But . . . the left wants everyone to think that the real danger is from neo-Nazis and white supremacists. Oh, yeah! Those right wingers. Watch out for them!
