I’m inclined to be charitable to people who speak in public and sometimes have to do so under pressure or on the fly. Sometimes they don’t have those problems but just say stupid stuff that they invariably know is stupid at the time or after a moment’s reflection.

I’ve not heard the MSM hounds baying after this one night and day, the way they did when Dan Quayle made similar gaffes. If Dan, or Sarah today, can’t recollect the name of the Asst. Commissioner of Streets in Rabat, however, it’s "Missing Link Discovered on Republican Ticket" time.
