Jefferson on debt, liberty, and servitude.

Place Economy among the first and most important virtues. and Public Debt as the greatest danger to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our leaders load us with perpetual debt. We must make our choice between Economy and Liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and in our comforts, in our labors and in our amusements. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the Pretense of caring for them, they will be happy. The same prudence which in private life would forbid our paying our money for unexplained projects forbids its disposition of public money.
Thomas Jefferson.

Now, back to the debate about health care and a flat screen TV for every citizen.

Col,

Ole Tom was smart guy. Too bad our youth have no clue about him or his philosophy of government. I am afraid they may learn the hard way... but the Obots will revise history and twenty years from now, it will be "Jefferson who?"

BTW, have a great trip! I sent you a personal email and again -- it bounced. So I re-sent it.

Take care!

In Christ,

ExP(Jack)

To Big to fail, means that you are now to big to plow your own field, which means that all those around you must now surrender their own fruits, for your labor.

I can not, and will not, ever again trust this republican party, if I do not now see tangible evidence of resistance, when we need it the most.

The Reps are losing a lot of real conservatives like me and people like JMB. Admittedly I lean libertarian, but from their writings, so did the founders. Jefferson is probably my favorite; it's frightening how prophetic some of his stuff is.

We need another Goldwater or Reagan along with a total refresh of the legislative branch.

Hope wherever you are you're keeping you busy and being happy.
