The supreme leftist standard.

Comments on blogs are often just as interesting as the blogger’s post itself. I like this observation I found at Dr. Sanity’s blog by The Red Hunter:
Mitzel is a typical leftist; if everything is not perfect instantly then it is worthless.
The liberal subversive never considers for an instant the effect of the “reforms” or “programs” he ardently supports.

Do they increase the power of the government?

Who cares?!!

That is never a consideration. In the liberal’s view, the capacity of western nations to absorb concentration of power in the government without reaching a tipping point where liberty is lost is infinite.

Liberals are content to ride in a car with an accelerator and a motor but are simply indifferent to the absence of a steering wheel, if they notice it at all.

If something could be “better,” then it should be better. If it should be better, then what has led to that which is imperfect now is corrupt, venal, oppressive, illegitimate, or compromised. Incremental improvements are unacceptable because they leave society in a state short of perfection. To advocate incremental reform is support for all the ills of the past and the present. It is a cowardly surrender to orthodoxy and rule by the privileged.

There is never any decency in the now.
