In 2003, an Iranian-born Canadian photojournalist named Zahra Kazemi was arrested in Tehran, jailed in its notorious Evin prison and charged with espionage. Less than three weeks later, Kazemi was dead. An Iranian doctor who examined her before her death later reported that she had been raped, sustained a skull fracture and had her fingernails ripped out.[1]You just can’t beat the Iranian mullahs for sustained hypocrisy and bestiality.
They are the face and soul of Islam and Islam is the single most insidious and murderous force in the world. It is constantly at work to prevent any kind of liberalization of society, it kills rational inquiry, it crushes the human spirit, and it thrives on war and subversion.
If that characterization upsets you, consider, among other things, that "The ReligionofPeace.com site now has tracked 13,005 Islamic terror attacks since 9/11.
Just since 9/11. On average 4.7 people a day since then killed by true blue Muslims. Protest from decent Muslims? Hardly.
Let the Muslims make the case for how those killers are an aberration of civilized, rational, chummy Muslims. As Reuel Marc Gerecht also notes today:
But [notwithstanding Mr. Obama’s finessing of words like “jihad” and “terrorism”] if one visits the religious bookstores near Istanbul's Covered Bazaar, or mosque libraries of Turkish immigrants in Rotterdam, Brussels or Frankfurt, one can still find a cornucopia of radical Islamist literature. Go into the bookstores of Arab and Pakistani immigrant communities in Europe, or into the literary markets of the Arab world and the Indian subcontinent, and you'll find an even richer collection of militant Islamism.Mr. Obama needs to take a packet of Handy Wipes if he intends to shake hands with the Iranian imams.
. . . [T]he ideology that produced al Qaeda isn't a rivulet in contemporary Muslim thought. It is a wide and deep river.[2]
Former FBI agent, Robert Levinson, missing in Iran in March 2007, is still unaccounted for. Bear this in mind as you contemplate Mr. Obama fawning over those missing links in Teheran.

Before 9/11 most of the world assumed that the atrocities committed by Nazis were a thing of the past. Now that we are paying attention to Muslims we see that barbarity and savagery are alive and well in Islam.
I agree, Bernie. Those among us who either hate the West or don't view it as something worth preserving seem to think that first there was History in which all men lived as brothers. Then this history was interrupted by the Nazis and the presidency of Dick Cheney in which barbarism flourished. Apart from these two aberrational speed bumps in man's smooth forward progress since the subjugation of the slime mold by the Assyrians, there has been uninterrupted respect for human rights in all lands.
Say what you will about the concept of Original Sin, it captures a truth about human nature that is a far more useful guide to how we should order government than the competing concept that bad things happen in the world because right wingers lack compassion, celebrate greed, and frustrate benevolent socialists at the polls.
Those who prefer the latter view would not acknowledge the killing and torture in China, the Soviet Union and elsewhere. These places got a complete pass. Muslims get one too for the same reason. The real threat to human decency is inherent in the foundations of the West itself.
Btw, don't expect the left to exhibit any outrage over "Anti Fascist" street fighters in Europe or the thugs that David Horowitz writes about on our campuses. But you know this.
